on the morning of february 1st, the official production ceremony of hot rolling project of guangdong guangqing metal technology co., ltd. (gqmt) was held at gqmt hot rolling plant, lingang industrial park, yangjiang high-tech development zone. the municipal leaders including jiao lansheng, the secretary of yangjiang municipal party committee, wen zhanbin, mayor of yangjiang city, huang ping, the chairman of guangxin group (gdftg), wu xiaohui, the general manager of gdftg, xiang guangda, the chairman of tsingshan’s the board of directors, lin xiamiao, the chairman of the board of supervisors of the provincial enterprises accredited by the provincial sasac, the relevant responsible personnel of gqmt, the leaders and guests from the relevant municipal departments of yangjiang city, the party and government chiefs of yangjiang high-tech development zone as well as the leaders of all cooperation units attended the ceremony.
the gqmt hot rolling project was the key program when the yangjiang municipal party committee and the people’s government of yangjiang city, gdftg and tsingshan was focusing on the strategic deployment that has been made by guangdong provincial party committee and people’s government of guangdong province in order to promote the revitalization and development of the eastern, western and northern regions of guangdong and to accelerate the development of the advanced equipment manufacturing industry, which were actively followed and served the provincial economic strategy and cooperation. this project is crucial for the positioning requirement of yangjiang city for implementing the “one core, one belt and one zone” new regional development pattern and “the important strategic pivot of coastal economic belt” proposed by the provincial people’s government, which is the key of creating the 100-billion level alloy material industry cluster.
the total investment of the whole production line of the hot rolling project costs is approximately rmb 1.5 billion. it has taken 15.5 months from the start of the construction to the completion and production, which once again sets a record for the shortest construction period of similar projects in china. it is also an important milestone for the development of gqmt to reach a new level. the project covers an area of 75,200 square meters. the production line is equipped with 2 walking beam furnace, 1 four-roll roughing mill, 8 four-roll finishing mills and 2 recoiling machines which adopts a number of leading technologies domestic and abroad. after putting into production, the annual production scale will reach 2 million tons, with an annual production value of over rmb 20 billion. moreover, the investment in environmental protection facilities would be increased. the production line actively implements “turning coal into gas”, which realizes cleaner production with high quality and high efficiency.
the successful completion of the hot rolling project will constantly attract the downstream cold rolling, stainless steel finish machining and other enterprises to settle in yangjiang high-tech development zone, and further connect with the traditional hardware and cutlery industry in yangjiang city, which would greatly promote the comprehensive connectivity of the stainless steel industry chain in yangjiang and form a national stainless steel industry cluster with the largest output and the most complete products, so as to effectively solve the problems of the stainless steel industry in guangdong province in terms of a lack of intermediate links and the shortage of raw materials, and further meet the demand of high-end stainless steel consumption in the southern china. the successful operation of the project is a great significance and prominence for promoting the economic and social development of yangjiang, or even the western of guangdong province, for helping guangdong province to build a world-class coastal economic belt.
